The land owned by the Bru family was purchased by Mr. Jaime Bru directly from the government of the Province of Buenos Aires towards 1890 and later from the Estancias and Colonias Curumalán partnership in 1900. The “El Hinojo” farm belonged to the homonymous section of the “Curumalán” farm owned by Mr. Edward Casey, an entrepreneur and pioneer. He was also an outstanding bovine, equine and ovine breeder, colonizer and founder of industries and cities.

In the beginning, Shorthorn bovine and Lincoln NZ. ovine were bred. The “El Hinojo” farm became well known locally and internationally for the prizes won at the main cattle shows and fairs, ( Classic , Palermo, Regional events). Also, in 1900 – 1901 exceptional wheat grain was produced from seeds imported from Spain by Mr. Jaime Bru. This grain was exceptional according to research carried out and certified by the Argentine Agricultural Museum in the experimental farms in Kansas and Minnesota in the U.S.A.. Mr. Emilio Bru, son of Mr. Jaime Bru who purchased the first Aberdeen Angus cows run the farm until the current owners, Mr. Luis Jaime Bru and his family took over.
